My partner and I enjoyed almost 3 weeks at Kitrini cottage and it was a wonderful stay! The accommodation is clean comfortable and homely with everything available in the kitchen area to prepare your own meals. The bed, linen and towels were of good quality and changed regularly by a lovely lady and her daughter (so sorry that I’ve forgotten your names ??). Hot water was always available in the shower. The trees surrounding the property kept the cottage cool even on the hottest days in late June and we never used the air conditioning. I did feel that some of the trees and shrubs would benefit from some pruning to allow more sunlight around the pool area and help prevent leaves and debris from accumulating in and around the pool. There are 2 nice seating areas at the front of the cottage, both in the shade. There are 2 other properties within the copse of trees and one behind but all are positioned so that privacy is respected. The nearest supermarket at Magazia offers a delivery service

General Information

Gaios is the capital of Paxos Island and the largest port, serving large ferries, hydrofoils and sea taxis from Corfu and Igoumenitsa.

As the largest town on the island, Gaios is relatively small and quaint, with Venetian architecture, a labyrinth of side streets, and pedestrian squares along the seafront. Restaurants and snack bars are scattered throughout the town, catering to all tastes and demands.

The surrounding olive groves offer a high standard of local Greek cuisine, a must-try for every visitor. Local amenities include a post office, banks, a chemist, a doctor's surgery, gift shops, a high school, jewellery and handmade craft shops, as well as supermarkets, bakeries, and butchers.

Gaios has a range of waterfront bars, ranging from quiet traditional coffee places to livelier bars playing a variety of music. Taxis are limited in number, and the bus service is regular, and it enables you to reach the resorts of Loggos and Lakka or smaller neighbourhoods.
